AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 3.1.4 (AMD FSR 3) technology uses a combination of super resolution temporal upscaling and frame generation to deliver a massive increase in framerates in supported games.

Our latest release, FSR 3.1.4, includes several fixes, such as improved upscaling quality, and features a signed, easily upgradable DLL that supports our FSR 4 driver upgrade feature. This feature makes updates to future versions of FSR more straightforward than ever before, including our upcoming FSR Redstone technologies.

It’s also now even simpler to integrate FSR 3.1.4 and AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag 2 with our updated plugins for Unreal® Engine 5.6, so you can easily get your game ready for FSR Redstone when it becomes available later this year.

What is FSR Redstone?

FSR Redstone is our upcoming suite of ML-powered AMD FidelityFX neural rendering technologies for developers, designed to deliver better performance, smoother visuals, and higher-quality ray tracing on AMD Radeon™ RX 9000 Series graphics cards.

Slide from AMD FSR Redstone press briefing at Computex 2025

  • Neural Radiance Caching: Dynamically learns and then predicts how light propagates through a scene, delivering efficient real-time global illumination.
  • ML Ray Regeneration: Infers and restores full-quality ray-traced detail from sparse samples, delivering sharp, noise-free visuals with reduced rendering cost.
  • ML Super Resolution: Reconstruct crisp, high-quality visuals from low-resolution frames with AMD FSR 4.
  • ML Frame Generation: Predicts and inserts new frames between rendered ones, now using ML, to deliver smoother and higher frame rate gaming.

FSR 3.1.4 support for FSR ML Frame Generation

In addition to all the other benefits of adding or upgrading FSR 3.1.4 in your game, such as reduced upscaler ghosting and support for our FSR 4 driver upgrade feature, FSR 3.1.4 also adds the required camera parameters to support ML Frame Generation. This feature is part of FSR Redstone.

FSR 3.1.4 and Anti-Lag 2 Unreal Engine 5.6 plugins now available

As part of the AMD FidelityFX SDK, AMD FSR 3.1.4 is already easy to integrate into your games but if you are using Unreal Engine 5, we’ve made it even easier with our UE plugin, just now updated to support the latest 5.6 release. You can download the plugin and learn how to install and use it in our updated guide.

We’ve also updated our Radeon Anti-Lag 2 plugin to support Unreal Engine 5.6. Anti-Lag 2 reduces end-to-end system latency in GPU-bound scenarios and is a recommended pairing with FSR 3.1.4 to help with frame generation latency.

Get ready for FSR Redstone

FSR Redstone will deliver advanced neural rendering technologies that will help make your games look amazing and perform better when running on AMD Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics cards. You can get a head start today with support for them by integrating FSR 3.1.4 into your game, and now we’ve made it even easier with our new Unreal Engine 5.6 plugin.
