The AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) plugin has been updated for Unreal® Engine 5.7, bringing developers and players an even more immersive experience on AMD RDNA™ 4 architecture graphics (AMD Radeon™ RX 9000 series). Designed to help improve temporal stability, better preserve detail, and reduce ghosting, AMD FSR 4 ensures your world looks stunning while maintaining exceptional performance.

This update continues AMD’s commitment to make integration and updates simple for developers. By leveraging the AMD FidelityFX API introduced in AMD FSR 3.1, developers have an easy upgrade path. Future AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ releases will automatically update the version of FSR 4 Upscaling used in-game to the latest available without requiring manual updates for each title. This ensures players experience the highest quality upscaling without requiring frequent game-side updates for each title.

The plugin also provides a fallback to AMD FSR 3.1.5 analytic upscaling when your game is running on AMD RDNA™ 3.5 architecture and lower graphics cards. It also includes analytical frame generation compatible with AMD Radeon RX 5000 series (AMD RDNA 1 architecture) and newer graphics cards to deliver a significant increase in framerates in supported games. Additionally, integrating FSR 3.1.5 analytical frame generation adds the required camera parameters to support ML frame generation automatically via our driver upgrade feature. This upcoming feature is part of FSR “Redstone” coming later this year.

In addition to updating the AMD FSR 4 plugin, the AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag 2 plugin will soon be updated to support Unreal Engine 5.7. Radeon Anti-Lag 2 enables games to reduce end-to-end system latency in GPU-bound scenarios on AMD Radeon GPUs, and integrates with the FSR 4 plugin to help provide additional latency reduction when using FSR frame generation.
