A wonderful Saturday in Shanghai! Check out the first stop of AMD’s GPUOpen Tech-Sharing Salon at ChinaJoy 2021!

AMD’s Tech-Sharing Salon was successfully held at the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel in Shanghai on July 31st, 2021. During this four-hour event, four lectures were delivered by AMD engineers.

These were titled:

  • AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution.
  • AMD Ryzen™ Processor Software Optimization.
  • Hybrid Raytracing Soft Shadow Denoiser.
  • AMD EPYC High Frequency Processor for Game Backend Support.

Our AMD Tech-Sharing Salon still attracted more than 30 offline participants despite the pandemic. The event was also streamed live on Tencent Conference.

Lectures, afternoon tea, and gifts. The best combination for getting inspired!

AMD Engineer Fangchen from our Game Engineering team started by introducing features of AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution. Fangchen elaborated how game developers could integrate FSR into their own games and gave answers to some frequently-mentioned questions such as anti-aliasing and visual flickering. He called on more people’s participation in further improving FSR.

The second lecture was composed of three parts – processors featuring Zen2 architecture, processors featuring Zen3 architecture, and best software practices. AMD engineer Hui talked about instruction set, cache hierarchy and simultaneous multi-threading, helping the audience to learn more about AMD Ryzen™ Processor Software Optimization.

On the same day, AMD engineer Fangchen also shared FSR-related content with developers on CGDC, which raised a lot of discussion.

Participants were highly engaged in the Q&A sessions. Ideas and opinions concerning topics like applying FSR to games were exchanged between participants and AMD engineers.

It was a harvest of valuable information according to the participants interviewed. Many expressed their hopes and expectations for the next stop of the AMD Tech-Sharing Salon.

The AMD Tech-Sharing Salon held in Shanghai is the first stop of AMD GPUOpen sharing events. We will head to more cities in China – very likely yours – to share high–quality contents with developers and AMD fans. We are so looking forward to seeing you in the future events. AMD, Yes!
