Plugin updated with AMD FSR Upscaling 4.1.1, adding AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series Support.

The AMD FSR™ Unreal Engine plugin has been updated to support Unreal® Engine 5.8, bringing the latest updates from FSR “Redstone” SDK 2.3. This includes our cutting-edge ML upscaler combined with ML-powered frame generation, delivering visuals that match or exceed native rendering quality with a substantial boost in game performance.

The most significant update in this release is upgrading the plugin’s AMD FSR Upscaling support to version 4.1.1. ML-based AMD FSR Upscaling delivers a significant leap in upscaling image quality over previous FSR generations and was previously exclusive to AMD RDNA™ 4 architecture graphics cards (AMD Radeon™ RX 9000 Series). Now, those same quality improvements are available on AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series discrete GPUs (RDNA 3 architecture), bringing ML-based upscaling in Unreal Engine 5 to a wider range of AMD hardware. Backward compatibility is maintained through analytical upscaling paths with AMD FSR 3 for RDNA 3.5, RDNA 2 architecture, and older GPUs.

The plugin update also includes the latest AMD FSR Frame Generation 4.0.1, our advanced frame-generating solution that leverages machine learning (ML) algorithms to generate high-quality intermediate frames from two consecutive source images, interpolating between the start and end images to deliver a higher visual frame rate. When combined with AMD FSR Upscaling and Radeon Anti-Lag 2, FSR Frame Generation delivers ultra-smooth, low-latency gameplay on AMD RDNA 4 architecture graphics cards. The v4.0.1 update includes improved input processing for motion vectors and camera parameters, improving visual quality in select corner cases.

Simplifying FSR integration and updates

This update continues our commitment to keeping AMD FSR integration and updates simple for developers. By leveraging the AMD FidelityFX API introduced in AMD FSR 3.1, developers who integrate FSR through our plugin get an easy upgrade path. Future AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ releases will automatically update the version of FSR Upscaling and FSR Frame Generation used in-game to the latest available, without requiring manual updates for each title. This means your players can experience the latest FSR versions without needing frequent game-side updates.

In addition to the AMD FSR plugin, the AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag 2 plugin has also been updated to support Unreal Engine 5.8. Radeon Anti-Lag 2 helps games reduce end-to-end system latency in GPU-bound scenarios on AMD Radeon GPUs and integrates with the FSR plugin to provide additional latency reduction when using FSR Frame Generation.

And with Unreal MCP support now available as Experimental, teams can begin exploring new AI-driven workflows that connect Unreal Engine with external tools and services through the Model Context Protocol.
